Day 1: In the Beginning, GOD!

Day 1: In the Beginning, GOD!

This is a wonderful series created to enable you to read the Bible in a year.
You can read the portion of scripture and as a bonus, read through our devotion. We encourage you to read daily and write what stands out for you. You can start any day!

Today’s reading: Genesis 1:1-25

The words ‘in the beginning God’ have attracted ridicule and praise in equal measure along academic corridors and mission grounds. It usually provokes some kind of debate, sometimes leading to animosity for those who puff knowledge, and a sense of grounding for those who defer their wisdom in humility.

What does that statement mean to you? You can put it down below in the comments.

As you think about it, it is good to know, at least for me, that the Bible is not a scientific book. Rather, it is for life transformation. When you interact with it openly, it should provoke deep thoughts within you and lead to the transformation of your heart and mind.
I think the Bible would be somehow incomplete without Genesis, as many would be asking where God came from, why we even exist, and whatnot.

As you go on about your day today, think of Genesis 1:2. Is there anything in your life that is not properly formed? Is there anything dark and too deep to even get your head around?

If you agree with me that the God of the Bible is the creator, know then that our God can transform every situation and give it both life -organization, and light -direction.
